We Might Get Single-Payer Yet!

  1. Great article, Sis! Jim McDermott is one of the best. It’s also great that McDermott invokes Robert La Follette’s famous dictum that the states should be our “laboratory for democracy,” the best place to experiment and develop new solutions to public problems.
Fighting Bob La Follette is a WI political icon!

Here’s La Follette’s story. I’m sure he is spinning in his grave knowing what WI has become. 😦

    1. Where have all the good politicians gone???? 😦 Although I did notice that for all intents and purposes there has always been a Republican-for-the-elites faction. Thnx for posting this Sis — I had heard of ‘Fighting Bob’ La Follette, but I had no idea how influential he had been. And to my way of thinking he isn’t spinning in his grave just because of where Wisconsin is now, I’m pretty sure he is upset about the entire country — we have fallen so far. 😦

      1. “Good politicians” would be mutually exclusive terms, no? From the local level to the national level, all politicians seem pathetically self-serving and are deserving an eternity of torment in basement hell.

      2. “And to my way of thinking he isn’t spinning in his grave just because of where Wisconsin is now, I’m pretty sure he is upset about the entire country — we have fallen so far.”

        So very true, Sis. 😦

    1. Well Jeff, I’d like to thank you for this article but it made me so angry it raised my blood pressure! 🙂
Actually, he brought out a number of things that I had been wondering about for quite some time, and he also backed up some things that other journalists have talked about, so I’d say all in all, he argued his point very well and truthfully. As my Sis said, thnx for the link. 🙂
